2020 - 2021 Interview Cycle Notice: Due to restrictions regarding travel and guidelines set by the CDC, WHO and local governments due to the COVID19 pandemic, our program will be conducting all of our residency interviews via ZOOM. Applicants needing accomodation or assistance in accessing devices should indicate that in an email to the residency administrator after an invite is extended. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable interview process for well-qualified, interested candidates.

Applications are only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) Open link in new browser tab program. All applications, transcripts, Dean’s letters, board scores, and reference letters will be processed through ERAS. To apply to the program, please review the resident selection criteria and contact your medical school Dean’s office or the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Open link in new browser tab.

A personal interview is required and will be arranged after the application and reference letters are received and accepted by our Residency Admission Committee.

We currently offer two programs through our department in general Psychiatry training. We only take applications through the ERAS system and we participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).  The Michigan State University Psychiatry Residency Program match number is: 2436400C0 Psychiatry Categorical and the match number for the rural program is: 2436400C1 Rural Program Track Categorical.

The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Open link in new browser tab. Applications are accepted from graduates of Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) Open link in new browser tab and AOA-approved medical schools.
